What are Spin Classes?
By now, you’ve probably at least heard of spin classes, be it through advertising or a friend talking about their experience in one. But you may not actually know what a spin class entails, beyond deducing it involves spinning something, probably the wheels of a stationary bike.
The latter is accurate of course—a spin class entails a room full of highly tuned stationary bikes that people bike on to music and the encouragement of an instructor. Many of these classes go on for 45 minutes to an hour straight with the bikes being ratcheted up and down with different amounts of resistance. People in spin classes are usually sweating profusely, as it burns a tremendous number of calories and works out their leg muscles intensely.
